DB Schenker to operate fleet of 150 electric Volta Zero trucks in European field trial

DB Schenker, a logistics company, has received the first prototype of the all-electric Volta Zero truck. The prototype will be part of a fleet of test trucks operated by DB Schenker in a field trial across Europe, transporting goods from distribution hubs to urban areas. In 2023, DB Schenker expects to receive 150 Volta Zero trucks. The logistics company intends to deliver emissions-free using more than 330 electric trucks and 70 cargo bikes in 124 cities across 22 countries, which they claim is unprecedented in the freight forwarding market. The next stage of testing will allow DB Schenker to use the Volta Zero in real-world distribution environments with full payloads.
