Earthquakes shake up Port of Iskenderun shipping operations

The recent earthquakes in Turkey and Syria have caused significant damages to the Port of Iskenderun, resulting in the suspension of new export and import orders. Carriers such as Hapag-Lloyd have temporarily halted new bookings until the terminal is repaired, and existing reservations for empty container pickups have been canceled. Customers have the option to move forward with new Mersin bookings. The German carrier has also stopped accepting new import bookings and advises customers to opt for a Change of Destination for current bookings until the terminal resumes operations.
