Port of Savannah sees strong container traffic in February – GPA reports

According to the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA), the Port of Savannah handled nearly 395,000 TEU in container traffic in February. Despite a decrease from January’s throughput of 421,714 TEU, this is the second busiest February in GPA history. The port authority’s share of US container exports rose to 12.3%, up by 0.4% compared to the same period in the previous year. Furthermore, for the current fiscal year through December, GPA’s market share for imports increased by nearly 0.75% to 11.1%. During the same time period, the port handled 3.8 million TEU.
