Port of Vancouver increases container handling capacity.

The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, in collaboration with DP World, has announced the completion of the Centerm Expansion Project. The project included expanding the terminal, constructing truck gates and a new operations facility, and improving marine habitat. Later this year, the expansion is expected to increase container handling capacity from 900,000 TEUs to 1.5 million TEUs. Due to growth, Canada’s west coast marine container terminals are expected to reach capacity in the mid- to late-2020s.
