Shreyas Shipping boosts fleet with new box vessels in India’s short-sea shipping sector

Shreyas Shipping and Logistics, India’s largest provider of short-sea shipping services, has acquired two container ships to replace older tonnage. The two ships are expected to join the company’s fleet soon. The company currently operates a fleet of 13 vessels, including 11 box carriers and two dry-handy size bulk vessels. Shreyas Shipping has exclusive charter agreements with DP World’s subsidiary Unifeeder. The tonnage acquisition comes as officials at India’s Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping) plan to impose stricter age requirements for port entry of multi-purpose vessels, tankers, and bulkers.
