The shipping container prices for almost all the major seaports in the USA have been fluctuating immensely in the past few weeks. According to GoComet’s Freight Rate Calculator data, the shiiping cost of 20ft container from Laem Chabang, Thailand to Oakland, USA have reduced by almost 53% in the past 10 weeks.

On 16 May 2022, GFI recorded the shipping prices for 20 ft containers to be approximately $11810.00 which was way too expensive. But the route showed a gradual decrease. On 11 July 2022, the price dropped as low as $2419.02 which sharply contrasted with the previous inflated price. As of 25 July 2022, the shipping prices for 20 ft containers have been at a steady $5498.00.
With a striking increase in port congestion on major seaports in the USA, we can only hope to not expect a skyrocket increment in the sea and ocean container freight rates.
