Port Congestion Updates in the USA: Boston Port Congestion for 22 Days

The Port of Boston, the biggest port in Massachusetts, is situated next to the City of Boston in Boston Harbor. It is one of the major ports on the American East Coast. As per the port congestion data by Gocomet, there are rising tensions of port congestion, and the median number of days in delay has reached 22, as of 5th September. Reports of congestion began flooding in around last week when the port delays were starting to build up. As of August 29, Boston port congestion amounted to 4 days, which has now strikingly increased.

The sailing schedule data by GoComet suggests that 46% of the shipments have failed to arrive on time due to Boston port congestion. Among the ones that have been performing better, OOLU has the highest number of shipments arriving on time. It is likely that the Boston port congestion will grow in the near future which has left freight forwarders perplexed.
