Port of Valencia anticipates a 9% increase in rail traffic in 2022

In 2022, the Port of Valencia saw a 9% increase in train traffic, handling 236,142 TEU and 2.2 million tonnes of cargo by rail. The total number of wagons increased by 15% to 87,070. The port intends to increase its share of container movement by train while also improving its infrastructure. Aurelio Martnez, President of the Port Authority of Valencia, attributed the success to recent investment efforts totaling more than €240 million ($257 million). The port received its first delivery of hydrogen to power its refueling station in January 2023.
